Japan is struggling on the U-20 stage.

The Japan Under-20 National Team fell 1-2 to Israel in their third Group C match of the FIFA U-20 World Cup 2023 at the Estadio Malvinas in Mendoza, Argentina, on Monday (Aug. 28) at 6 a.m. ET.

Japan, who won the first leg, dropped to third place with three points after a second consecutive reverse against Colombia. Israel, on the other hand, finished second with four points (one win, one draw, and one loss) and punched their ticket to the round of 16.

Japan took an early lead in the match. The Japanese attacked in waves, starting with a shot from Matsumura in the seventh minute of the first half, looking for a goal.

The pounding Japanese were happy to go into halftime with a 1-0 lead when Sakamoto surged forward and slotted home what Matsuki had flicked away with his head from a free kick in first-half stoppage time.

The second half was a different story, however, as the Israelis came out firing on all cylinders and the Japanese were unable to respond. In the seventh minute of the second half, Ibrahim stepped up the offense with a threatening shot. 메이저놀이터

But then the bad news hit. In the 16th minute of the second half, substitute Banyavin was cautioned just over four minutes in, and then again three minutes later for a deep tackle to accumulate cautions.

Israel’s fighting spirit shone through despite the bad luck of having a substitute sent off just over seven minutes later. In the 31st minute, Israel won a free kick and Nabi finished with a header in a scramble.

With the score tied at 1-1, Lemkin slotted the ball home again in stoppage time to make it 2-1. The game remained 2-1 in favor of Israel.
